Im sorry but this has to be fake. The label fell off? Also, and this may be reading a little too deep into it, but it was posted with ebay mobile. If I'm posting an item thats going to need such specific details and is going to bring in north of 25 thousand dollars, I'm not posting it with my damn phone.

And I think you were right cause the Grey card is not on Ebay anymore.

For the gold one... The description is almost the same as the grey card that been sold yesterday.

Who knows

I wonder what happened to the grey one from my research that one had a chance of being legit. Looks like ebay pulled that auction. The gold I emailed the guy a question of the cartridges origin if he was the original winner etc, but he said he found it in a box of games in 94.

There was a winner according to NP near where he lives so it is possible but Dream would be a better person to ask and see if he ever tracked that cartridge down from that state

Grey one probably got pulled after he found out the buyer didn't pay in the last one. Don't blame him/her.

than he would have ended it himself and the auction would still appear on completed listings. It got pulled by ebay that is the only way it would disappear completely

Ah, I thought if he pulled it outright that it would not show up in the listing. Wonder why eBay pulled it.... probably for the reason above then?

Muresan said he was contacted by someone who (supposedly) had one and asked how to go about selling it, and that he had copied most of Muresan's auction listing when it was listed. I don't know if it was the gray or gold seller. Looks like they're copying each other once they heard about Muresan's auction "windfall."

The gray is back. Same seller. Looks like a whole new auction, as the last one had a bunch of bids.

Gray does look legit, from the outside anyways. Few people who've had them now try to cash in on the insanity that has ensued after this muresan debacle. I can't believe this was the one to pick up crazy coverage. Howard's copy should've done that, not this one. If anything though, maybe this will cause a few more legit ones to leak out that were previously unknown.

I asked the seller of the gold if he could open it and take pictures of the ROM board. My guess is he won't.

Since when has a label "fallen off" so cleanly? Obvious fake is obvious. Even if the board is legit I'd bet that shell is Zelda

Furthermore, why would you drop that kind of cash on something that you know is commonly faked without being able to inspect it personally first? That's what we call "Asking for it". I recently won an auction for 40 NES carts. Labels were in mint condition and 70% of them were in plastic cases, then I turned them over... every single one someone carved their name in 256 point font size on the backs. In the sellers defense he admitted to neglecting to mention that and I received a full refund when I returned them Just goes to show you. Ebay is risky business

The labels on the golds are a small triangle of paper held down with a glue stick. The quality is nowhere near a real label. It could very easily peel off leaving just glue junk behind. Doesn't immediately mean it is real, but no label doesn't mean obvious fake.

Nice to know. Their are many variables here. I think what sticks out to me most, is the fact that the guy says in the description, he is a collector, though it appears as if  (according to the terrible pictures) he's been keeping this twenty thousand dollar cart in a jus a black sleeve? Its equally ironic that he has lots of 100% positive feedback, and that this comes off the heels of the muresan coverage.
