A worker was leaving this bag by the door so I asked if I could snag the DS cases. Manager said "sure, but they're empty".

So I just grabbed the whole bag and walked out the door.

Both the 360 controllers work, the wireless one is just missing the battery holder.

My Supervisor won't let me take the DS cases anymore, he seems to think I am going to resell them. I offered him to look through the boxes in my attic at the hundreds of empty DS cases I have. Sucks!

Wow sounds like your manager is a dick. GS thinks they're trash, yet you're not allowed to keep the trash. I wish they'd respect those things, most people I imagine would rather not have a 1" easily lost square alone to worry about.

Wow I can't believe they just throw the cases for all the DS games out. In fact I was just in my local game store yesterday. Looking at all the loose DS games in the glass case and wondering to myself. How in the hell could someone lose the cases to all those now I know the dumbass store through them out.

Why would you even want to throw out DS cases? I can understand throwing out non-durable boxes that are harder to store and such but not plastic cases. Especially when you know they aren`t going to sell for more without them. Also, those cartridges are tiny! If I owned a DS I would be losing the shit out of those cartridges left and right if I didn`t have the cases.

He's not really a dick, it's corporate, heck we even have the game swag in inventory now.  Really no extra benefits of working there now.

So he was just throwing out two working 360 controllers? Are you sure you were supposed to take the whole bag, Jim?

I see it all the time, instead of trying to find a controller back, just get rid of the problem.

They suck for doing that.  Also if you are a GBA collector they will stop taking GBA related items by the first week of April.  So if there is something there that you see don't pass it up you'lll never see it again :-(

Oh well then sorry manager, and gamestop proving that it ever more so is a dick than ever -- must be downing extenze by the box full the jerks. You have to throw out the boxes but can't give em away, and the swag stays in a lock box basically -- how f'n retarded. If I were the manager I'd just say, "this is going out in a "sealed bag" in the dumpster after work" and hope that is implied enough as it's just waste.

I can't believe they just toss out all of those cases. Thats almost insulting. I hate GameStop even more than I did before now.

I wish I had access to Gamestop trash. You can get $3-5 each on eBay for popular game case/manual combos, and it is only going to get easier to sell them now that Gamestop is trashing them.

Gamestop is absolutely a horrible company and i will never shop there. When i worked there it was a little bit better but they just keep getting worse. My friend also who was a manager just got fired for not having good enough numbers aka subs and reserves. Id rather buy my games from walmart, where i dont have some balding 40 year old begging me to reserve gears 3.

I only go to gamestop when there is no where else to get it. Thats it. I work at a different game store. We give so much better value. We have people come in all the time after leaving gamestop angry on trade in amounts. I have to tell them to come to us because we deal in used games and give more money. Gamestop is more of a new retail game store and dont rely on trade ins to operate, and if they actually get someone to sell something to them its just icing on the cake

I know everyone is talking about the cases but did you also find the controllers in the "trash". If so then I should ask the gamestops around me for their garbage.

I have yet to ask my two local Gamestop's about the empty DS cases. We actually have a secluded one that no one really knows about (I haven't seen another shopper in there EVER) with a wicked chill manager - he's already let me a have a couple of standee's instead of throwing them out. I really need to try to save some DS goodness!

We have another gaming franchise here that competes with gamestop. They deal with all systems and most have used games.

At one location they schedule workers to 7 hour 45 min shifts so they don't have to pay for the 30 minute lunch

Inspired by this thread I went into Gamestop asked if I could go through some of their used games for online codes. The girl behind the counter was cool and just asked me to stay away from the new games. I seriously scored. 8 Wii and 11 DS games I do not have registered. I am getting platinum again next year for sure.
