Here we go guys.  Here are the ROMs for Exerion 2, just got them edited up and ready for download.

Big thanks to everyone who helped make this project possible:  nesguy, dreamTR, and all the awesome members who donated.  We apologize for the delay in getting them out, but here they are for all to enjoy.

I am sure they will be available to purchase in cart from Retrozone, thenesdump, and the other repro makers soon enough if you want it in cart form.  Thanks so much for making NA and awesome place to be and go play some Exerion 2.....it really is a pretty fun game.

HUGE improvement from the Famicom title. I'm pleasantly surprised. Makes me think I should have bought it and released it myself lol.

Yay for Moai heads! The quad-shot is a definite improvement over the doubleshot, makes it a bit easier. Also, now we've got Tie fighters instead of random blobs, lol

Was the "Bonus Rapid Stage" in the original? I suck a lot at this so I probably just never got there before. 59900 is my yo-big score lol

That was my exact train of thought as well   I was about a day away from buying it when the project got started, saved me some mega cash though   The game really is a lot of fun though, one of the better unreleased titles for sure.

hmmm, i just compared this to the original famicom exerion and it is very similar. the game play is almost the same, but the graphics are changed. i wonder if this was the prototype US version of the original game? the prototype just could have been labeled exerion 2 by the jaleco employee to distinguish from the original. i noticed this was a common practice back then when releasing famicom games on the Nes (change the title screen, and some graphics) still a cool release though, always happy when new games come out.

here is video of the gameplay of the original:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyPBW-qXR0k

i think if i make a cart ill probably just label as just exerion.

coinheaven : I stated in a previous thread that they called it Exerion II but it had upgraded graphics and sound from the original Exerion. The planned date of release of this was 1989, not 1985 or so like the original Exerion release.

Phew, I'm glad this is done! The game really is a lot of fun, though . Thanks NGD for helping me out in the final stages of this project here, it's much appreciated. I also want to thank those individuals who supported the release of this ROM, and for the people who shared kind words to keep me going on it. EVERYONE should be happy this is released!

DreamTR: I know it's been a bumpy road as per usual, but thank you again for making this available to us. You take a lot more heat than you deserve, and this game has proved well worth it.

There wasn't an icon planned for this one. We only done an icon for the Tyson one to help get the ball rolling for projects like this, and cause we had to raise the most money for Tyson.  A list of all the donors will most likely be covered in the ezine for posterity sake.

What an odd question. I know of very few cases where source code for an NES game was leaked. I have Home Alone 2, Hero Quest and James Bond Jr., and I can't honestly think of any others.
