This guy took the time to scan the video game pages of old Sears catalogs.  Pretty cool stuff.  Not sure if he is a member here?

Check out the first ad under 1990: Dawn of the 16-Bit Era.  I didn't know California Raisin's was that far along.

I have an old catalog from the 90s I found in my attic also. I could scan it up if there is some interest. It was cool looking to see what games they had, and some of the prices. All games werent the same price like today, some SNES games they wanted like $70 for!

I would definitely be interested in it. I almost bought a few old catalogs just too look at the old video games. Does that mean I'm obsessed like the rest of the members on here??!!

I really could have used something like that when I had to make an insurance claim on a sealed Goldeneye a few years back.

One of the things they needed for "proof of value" was an advertisement with a price on it in a magazine or catalog. Seeing as how I was selling a sealed N64 game in 2004, you can imagine that I couldn't come across anything for proof.

That's super cool, and you brought up a cool point about California Raisins. I knew that they were a little bit into it, but that looks far .

Only 2 NFR's left! Lemme know if you have a MM Mask Gray or Starfox 64. Don't tell Swanson.

With the horrible exchange rate in the 90's most NES games were $100 CDN each upon release.

Is it just me or do the Karate Kid and Bionic Commando screenshots look strange?

Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and cackling, telling me, "You're next." They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.

They look extremely strange. Definately not the final versions or perhaps screenshots from the famicom versions?

I've got a Sears mini catalog devoted to just NES from that era that I've been meaning to scan. It's pretty cool looking.

1. The screenshot for Jaws is also not from the real game.

2. In theLittle Nemo screen shot the gorilla has his cigar in his mouth still.

Is anybody able to find any scans from the 1986 Sears Wish Book? That one would be interesting to me as the first one after the NES went national. I can find 1985 & 1987 out there, but not that one.

It's interesting to see BMX Trial on the Master System scan, as that was never released outside of Japan (Well, apart from Korea). Especially considering they had a price for it and a catalog number.

Nice, thanks.  No Clu Clu Land?  What a travesty!
And a big box Gyromite & Stack-Up for the low, low price of $35 apiece.  What a deal.

Also the Legend of Zelda is from the Famicom Version because you can tell the "numbers" and "letters" have different font. I know because I have the Famicom version.

Also, the Karate Kid DOES looks strange.

EDIT: I love how one of the Castlevania and Mission Impossible screen got switched and Battletoads screen shot is upside down.
