I was aware that some NES boxes have both oval and circle seal variations, but I didn't know it occurred on carts too until just recently. I saw that Mega Man can be found with either a circle or oval seal on the label so I got to looking through my carts and I noticed that my copy of Mario Bros (the original) has an oval seal. I checked eBay and I noticed that it can be found with both a circle and oval seal as well. Is there a list anywhere of NES carts that can be found with both seal variations?

It gets worst, manuals too! Also, some manuals have a star next to the nes code. Oh, and some seals are TM and others are (r), also there are Rev-A games and non rev an...I think legend of zelda has one of each of these.

I think RF Generation has the only list I've found to have with the seals noted. Otherwise NGD's list is the most comprehensive.

Can you post links to them? I'd appreciate it!

My Metroid and Zelda 1 carts both have the 1989 white seal on them (so both of these were obviously later issues), so I must have bought those titles during that year. The earliest ones (on both box and cart label) had the old 1985 circle seal on them. My Zelda 2 cart has the 1985 seal on its label.

Sometimes, the box and cart may have a newer seal, but in the instruction book the older seal turns up. A copy of Super Mario Bros. 2 (USA) that I have has the 1989 oval seal on the cart label, but has the 1985 circle seal inside the instruction book.

RF Generation:

Edit: Looks like you have to choose "NES" and "North America" each time you click the RF link for the actual list.

Technically the seal on the cart should match the cart, box and manual. Another thing to consider when CIB piecing together
