I've been collecting NES stuff for about 4 years now and was not aware of variants until I started browsing the forum here. I have a NES Zelda II cart that has information on both the front and back labels in both english and french. The back label also says Nintendo CAN. Apparently Nintendo released this for the Canadian market.

Does anyone know what the rating for this variant is?

(PS - I enjoy reading the posts on these forums and have learned a lot - Thanks)

     Hello NintendoAGERS,

I am happy to share with the NA community that I have finally completed the entire NTSC Virtual Boy CIB collection. I have a Mario Tennis box that is pending and then I am done!!! It feels so good to finally complete a video game collection (granted it is only 14 games). Jack Bros. and Water World were VERY HARD to find in MINT CIB condition. Thanks to a member here (Fantomex) I will be officially done soon. Now, I just have 36 loose NTSC NES carts and I will be finished with that. I am so happy!!!

      Wolf

For those of you with a PowerPak, there is a new mappers update. This one includes many of the new mappers by a genius named loopy. He did the FDS support, and adds some more Famicom mappers. Also included is a new system for saving the last game played. A file on the CF card holds the last game, save, and Game Genie codes. Later you can turn the console on and hit start to reload that file. Works great as long as the files on the card aren't moved around.

For those of you without a PowerPak, go get one at http://www.retrousb.com now before I run out soon!

when does the obession of collecting become out of control

I thought I would try and keep up with the wii since its new and everything is avaible. Then I relized after going to wal mart the other day, it would be ok if you were a millionaire but for the average person its just stupid. just collecting the games isnt to bad but the way they market stuff its way to much for the average person.

what im meaning is I bought chicken shoot a long time ago, when it was marked down to 10 dollars, now its packaged with a plastic gun for 49.99. I thought i wanted to keep up with the wii stuff but Ive come to the conculsion its crazy. there are just way to many specially packed items to try and keep up. I mean does one really need a new dance pad with the 3 games

What is your most rare/valuable NES item that got destroyed/damaged during the shipping process?
Post pictures, or simply tell about what happened and to which game.

One of my worst deliveries was when I purchased War in the Gulf (a Brazilian NES game) off eBay, and the game had to be shipped from Brazil to U.S. So, I waited about a month and it finally arrived. I opened it up and the cartridge was in like 4 pieces. It sucked because the game was shown on eBay and it looked minty, but thanks to the terrible shipping, the game got destroyed.Well, once I got over the fact that the cartridge was destroyed, I wanted to see if the game worked. So I put the actual game into another NES cart, and thankfully, it worked fine.
So next time when you order an NES game that is valuable, make sure that the shipping is handled properly (ask for the game to be shipped in a box, or whatever). It's well worth the few extra dollars.

*pics will be added soon
